=PALO DURO=…Chapter 5…-THE VIEW-

Tom eased his truck on to the highway and headed east towards Palo Duro. He checked his gas gauge. He pulled out the Buddy Holly CD and put in his Roy Orbison -Black and White- CD. Now that he was off the back desert roads he opened his truck windows and wished it would rain. He loved the smell of wet Mesquite. Tom Belton kept his truck humming at 65 miles an hour.

After twenty minutes he could see Palo Duro. It consisted of Nealson’s Gas Station on the right and Palo Duro Cafe on the left attached to 20 rooms of The Rim Motel. A couple of mobile homes were behind the motel. Welcome to Palo…
